Madhya Kamrup College is one of the premier institutions of higher education for boys and girls in one of the traditionally enlightened districts of Assam. It was established on the 9th August, 1971 at Subha which is now a model village mostly inhabited by tribal people and located in the Chenga-Bahari area at the East-end of Barpeta district (formerly undivided Kamrup district of Assam).
Sufficient numbers of class rooms, including a digital classroom, of varying sizes are available for the smooth conduct of different classes in the college.
Two laboratories for Anthropology and Education Departments with sufficient space and all the necessary equipments are available in the college.
Students and teachers may borrow books from the library against Library card. Books can be photocopied in the library itself. The central library has a collection of more than 27,674 books. A good number magazine, Departmental journals and news papers are subscribed by the library which has also got a rare reference book collection. The library is automated and there is also a computer lab for teachers & students. The central library is also under CCTV surveillance.
The college has one museum in the department of Anthropology. It may boast of rich collection of artefacts and different cultural items of high value.
Madhya Kamrup College possesses one overhead projector, three LCD projectors, laptops which are used for teaching- learning purposes, seminars and conferences.
A canteen for students, teachers & non-teaching staff is available in the college and remains open during working hours
