Baosi Banikanta Kakati College, Nagaon was established at Nagaon of Barpeta district on the 25th July, 1971 under the able leadership of Mahendra Mohan Choudhury, ex-Chief Minister of Assam and ex-Governor of Punjab, with th evision-to create an institution that would earn laurels in every aspect, be it in academic results , teaching-learning process or co-curricular activities and also to produce a class of students ready to excel in every chosen field with honour and up rightness.The name of the college BAOSI BANIKANTA KAKATI (B.B.K) College comprises two names - 'Baosi' and 'Banikanta'.Baosi was once the hub of diverse cultural and religious activities of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva and Madhabdeva along with Damodar Deva and Haridev ; Banikanta Katati who was born this very locality , was a scholar , liguist , critic and academician.
Library: The B.B.K College has a well equipped library with a reading room.It is more than 9,000 books that covers the college syllabus as well as reference books in various subjects.The library subscibes nearly 9 periodicals includings magazines,journals and newspapers.Latest publications are continously added to the existing collections to equip the students with a wide range of academic materials.
Computer Lab: The B.B.K College has multi updated computer laboratories.The Computer laboratory is based for the students of B.Sc., BCA and PGDCA Courses . BBK College has trained computer teaching facilities. The computer laboratory has 500 to 85 computers. Practicals are held twice in a week according to the prescribed syllabus.
Canteen: Baosi Bani Kanta Kakati College of Nagaon has a awesome canteen to provide hygenic food to serve for all of our students , all of our teachers and all all non faculty members.
