Ratnapith College was started on the first September, 1978. It was called Chapar Bahalpur College in its inception. After one year, the name was changed to Ratnapith College to signify a wider concept and some emotional values. Ratnapith was the name of one of for divisions of the ancient kingdom of Kamrup. The site of the College is with him ancient Ratnapith which had a glorious past and rich heritage. The College has renamed after it to associate itself with its past glory. The College is situated at Bahalpur, Nathpara under Chapar Circle of Dhubri District.
The College has a well managed, well stocked, and fully computerized central library having more than 16,415 collections of text and reference books. Latest publications in the field of Economics, Education, Political Science, History, Philosophy, Literature etc. are continuously added to the collection. Besides books, the Library also subscribes to a good number of periodicals and research journals pertaining to different subjects taught in the college. Popular magazines, various daily and weekly regional & national newspapers etc. are also available in the reading room of the library. It also has a humble collection of digital resources in the form of CD-ROM, DVD-ROM. All departments’ posses a departmental library with good collection reference books for students and faculty members.
The college has a well equipped gymnasium hall of almost 2200 sq.feet with different equipment. A physical instructor advises students regarding gymnasium practices.
The College has a well-furnished canteen facility to provide food to the students and teaching, non-teaching staff at a subsidized rate. The canteen is accommodated in a house measuring about 2100 sq. ft. along with a kitchen.
Hostel Facility
Girls Hostel: The quarter of the hostel superintendent lies at the vicinity of the hostel. The hostel has well furnished spacious and well-lit rooms.
Scholarship Facility
National Scholarships, State merit Scholarship and the scholarship for the students belonging SC/ST/OBC/MOBC categories are available. The students qualified for this scholarships one to apply within stipulated date as notified by the authority.
