St. Thomas College of Teacher Education, Pala was established in 1957 as one of the pioneer institutions in the field of teacher education. It is the first teacher education institution to be reaccredited with A+ grade by NAAC
The college has a well equipped computer lab for computer aided instruction and practical sessions.
Laboratories:Various laboratories have been established to help the students in their academic pursuits. The different laboratories in the institution include a Language laboratory, Psychology laboratory, Technology and modern media Laboratory, Science Laboratory and Computer Laboratory.

There are two approved hostels for the college; ‘Training College Hostel’, for men and ‘Carmel Hostel’ for women.
