Hans Roever Krishi Vigyan Kendra is sanctioned and funded by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Govt. of India, New Delhi and managed by St. John Sangam Trust, Perambalur.
It was established in April 2002, situated at Valikandapuram which is located at 9 kms away from Perambalur on the Trichy – Chennai National Highways (NH- 45).
It caters the needs of the farming community of Perambalur district. The KVK is disseminating the latest technologies in agriculture, horticulture, veterinary, rural industries, women and child welfare, cooperation and allied fields aiming to uplift the socio - economic conditions of the rural peasants.
Farms: HR KVK has demonstration unit to educate the farmers of entire district which has well established various units such as Animal husbandry, Sericulture, Mushroom culture, Orchard, precision farming, Horticulture units-nursery production, poly houses etc. situated in an aerial extent of 50 acres. Each unit is performing its function well and educating proven solution to the farm related problems. These units would be well utilized for on-the-job training to the farmers.
Soil test lab:
HRKVK has well established soil testing laboratory equipped with all the machines and equipments and testing the soil samples from the district regularly.
Equipments and Vehicles:
HRKVK has jeep, two wheelers, Tractor 2 nos., Trailor 2 nos., Cultivator 1 no., land leveler 1 no., cage wheel 1 no., rotovator 1 no., bund former 1 no., disc plough, cono weeder, rain gun, sprinkler 1 unit, sprayers (power, battery and rocker) and small implements.
Fully furnished office with computer, digital camera and audio visual lab.
