The society was founded on 28th December, 1966 by Asgar E.Lakdawala, a poor S.S.C student at that time. He gathered together a very small group of young boys, each of whom hailing from a poor family and had a spirit of service, sacrifice, friendship & understanding. The sole mission of the group was ‘Educational uplifment of poor & needy students of Bohra community’. Since 1966, year after year, more and more benefactors from Bohra community realised the importance of the mission set by the Founder & today, there are about 600 life members & patron members who are patronizing the mission of the society. Basically the society aims at the education of the Bohra &non-Bohra Muslim community & extends its facilities to other communities.
Library: Royal College library was set up in the year 1989 since the inception of the College. Over the years, it has been flourished in to an up to date system and fully automated library.Earlier the library was operated manually, which was later automated using SLIM++ software.Since 2012, we are using SLIM21 library software.The Library area is spacious 1375 sq.ft, making seating capacity for 200 students.We have 5 sections: Open access section, reading room for students, reference section, internet section and staff reading room.
