Deshbhakta Anandrao Balwantrao Naik Arts and Science College is a distinguished degree college affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur. The college is named after Late Deshbhakta Anandrao Balwantrao Naik(Tatya),the freedom fighter and distinguished visionary The campus is Situated in hilly area of Shirala Taluka which is 18 km from NH4 and 60 km from Sangli. This is the first college with Science faculty in Tahasil established in 1998 by late Loknete Fattesing (Appa) Naik with a view of providing quality education to the rural youth. The college is started with only 138 students imparting arts and Science Education.It has made tremendous progress within a short span of time and has gained recognition for preparing and grooming the students into academically meritorious and professionally efficient scholars. The selection of the students of the college for advanced studies in renowned colleges, professional courses and prestigious services are the testimony to high aim of the college to provide its student with the education that can endow them with material, intellectual and moral richness.
Library: The academic library is the central organ of all academic activities.Therefore; it has been universally accepted as the heart of academic institution. In recent years the library is regarded as an important means for promoting education, information of knowledge. The trends of higher education are shifting from classroom and examination oriented education to library and self learning oriented pattern of education.
Gymkhana: In college we provide the facilities to student, who is more active in sports. We give special attention on indoor and outdoor games. We have established dominance in soft ball, chess and cycling tournaments. We conduct yoga camp and also encourage female students for their participation in order to inculcate the habit of physical exercise among the students.
