JKIE has been approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi and has affiliation with Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University, Bhilai with the help of well qualified experienced faculties, modern amenities, rich library, well equipped laboratories, workshop, computer facilities and other necessary infrastructure, the institute is intended to produce career – ready graduates who are immediately employable, self-reliant, self esteemed and ethical so as to maintain the sanctity of life. J.K. Institute of Engineering was established under a board policy frame work of providing new technology required for the industrial growth of the country in general and more particularly for the State of Chhattisgarh.JKIE is located near Gatora Railway Station and 6 K.M. from Bilaspur Railway Station. Bus transport facilities prevail continuously. The campus is spread over 20 acres of Greenland procedure keeping in mind that it is well away from the hustle and bustle of the city and the same time easily approachable. It provides a unique environment for studies with natures greenery around and a very well maintained garden, lawns and seasonal flowers decorating the college building.
Workshops: The workshop accommodates all essential branch-shops for welding, fitting, forging, black smithy, carpentry, foundry etc. The workshop contains machines like Lathes, Power hammers, Drills, Grinders, Millers, Power cutting machines etc.
Library: Libraries are backbone of any civilized society and heart of any academic institution, thus the library at JK INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING also acquires a prominent place among the student and faculty. Situated in a two storied centrally air-cooled Building spread over an area of 2000 square meters & serving 1763 Members, it is a central place for academic and research activities. The library gas a well-equipped conference hall with the seating capacity of 150 for academic discussions and reading rooms for 300 users. The Library has a very rich collection of relevant books and journal. The total collection of the library is more than 200000 in main library, 5205 in General Book bank, 9057 in SCP Book Bank and 2805 received through donation During 2010-2011, 994 books were added in the library, The library services at JK INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING are provided to students, staff & faculty members for updating their knowledge and supporting the research and teaching/learning activities These service are provided through the central library and departmental libraries, keeping in view the fast changes in technology, the knowledge base of the library is updated regularly by way of adding literature bin the form of text books, reference books, reports, proceedings, abstracts & indexes, encyclopedias, data books, standard (National & international), Journals & database on CD-ROM Apart from adding the new programmes along with current one. Some new sections and services are also being started to make the library services of ISO 9001 standard.
Bus Facility: The institution has a robust transport system with a fleet of buses. They facilitate ease of conveyance for both students and staff. The buses ply to and from the prominent parts inside the Erode city and its sub-urban areas. Luxurious bus for long distance areas for comfortable travelling. The service area for the system, its hours of operation, and the location for each bus stop will be changes according to semester time table.
Canteen: JKIE Institution has spacious canteen at campus. At the canteen, dishing out menus are highly popular among students as well as staffs.Students enjoy their food in the clean, well maintained, aesthetic and appetizing atmosphere. Most people fondly remember their college canteen as one of their life’s high points. It is the place where they keep their creative juices flowing with hot discussions, chewing ideas, exchanging and sharing strongly held opinions and eatables.Kitchen staff takes care to provide the students and staff a nutritious and hygienic food at our campus canteen. A variety of hygienic food and snack items includes South and North Indian Meals, Variety Rice, Tandoori, Chat, Chinese Foods, Cakes, Fresh Juices, Fruits, Ice Creams galore the menu.
Sports Facilities: Cricket, football and volleyball are regular features at JKIE Indoor games like carom, badminton and table tennis are play in the campus many more sports and games disciplines shall be added for the recreation of the student.
Hostel Facility
Hostel Facilities Available: JK Institute of Engineering provides accommodation to students wishing to reside in the hostels. Each hostel in the institute is an independent unit in respect to his internal administration under the overall supervision of the Council of Wardens and the Hostel Management. The hostel is administered by a Warden appoint by the Director and he/she is assisted by an Asst. Warden in all matters relating to the hostel.Each hostel also has a Hostel Council which is an advisory body comprising the Warden and the Hostel (as its Chairman), the Asst. Warden and the elected student secretaries as its members. The Hostel Council plans the students’ activities for the year, prepares the budget for sports, recreational and other social activities of the students through the respective student secretaries and is responsible for the running of individual messes with the help of the mess committee.The Hostel Office is located within the hostel premises. Attached to each office are an Office Manager and an Attender who assist the Warden in matters related to the various activities of the hostel. The office maintains all the files, registers, records, ledgers, account books, supplier’s bills; payment registers etc., pertaining to the hostel residents, mess and the employees. The Hostel Office is open on all weekdays.
Placement Service Available: Personality plays a very vital and important role in a student’s career. JK Institute of Engineering has an independent Training & Placement Office catering to the needs of organizations in conducting campus interviews. The placement season commences in the first month of every academic year and continues till the end of the academic year. Pre-Placement Talks are conducted for the final year students prior to the commencement of placement session every year. JKIE is ranked one among the top fifteen Chhattisgarh technical institutes, in terms of number of students receiving placement offers from reputed organizations from all over the country. 100% of the students secure job offers before they complete their programme of students in the College. JK institute of Engineering places special emphasis on experiential learning in the training process. Towards that end, the College has adopted a pedagogical practice that provides for enhanced learning opportunities through co-operation with industry, business, counterpart skills in the chosen discipline apart, overall personality development assumes an essential aspect of every course of study.
