The Bapatla College of Arts & Sciences, Bapatla sponsored by the Bapatla Education Society, was established in 1963. The starting of the college was in fulfilment of the long cherished desire of the people of Bapatla area to have a center of higher education. Annavarapu Pundarikakshudu Scholarship Trust and Eastern Chowltry Trust had severely donated Rs.55,000/- and Rs.5,000/- respectively to form the financial nucleus of the society. The College also owes its existance not a little to the Bapatla Municipal Council and the generous and philanthropic spirit of a host of other donors and devoted men of action of Bapatla and the villages nearby. The Government of Andhra Pradesh was gracious to allot 28 acres of land.
