The teaching pattern of our college consists of rigorous environment, through which each student has to pass through in order to prove their worth. Apart from the directed teaching hours so defined by the GTU, at Jayvatrai Harrai Desai Polytechnic the curriculum timetable is set according to the following parameters kept in mind.At Jayvantrai Harrai Desai Polytechnic, the teaching timetable consists of 6 days a week.We conduct three examinations – Mid Sem Test (Phase-1,Phase-2,Phase-3 for each subject) of 30 marks each per week continuously throughout the semester. Assessment of the same is done within 2 working days and the doubt rectification of the students is done before the next examination arrives for the same subject.Result analysis of the mid sem test is done consistently and the weak students identified from that are given counseling through extra lectures for the required subject by the faculties after the college hours.The rich set of question bank per subject is given to the students at the end of the semester prior to the GTU examination in order to facilitate the preparations for the examinations. The examination system at ‘Jayvantrai Harrai Desai Polytechnic’, in keeping with the high standards of the GTU, tests the acumen, thoroughness and depth of understanding of the students. In each semester, three examinations- three Minor and one Major (at the end of the semester) test termed as Pre GTU Test , the students exhaustively while quizzes, assignments and numerous mock examinations constantly keep them on their toes.
Library: A Central Library with a carpet area of 326 sqm is planned. An amount of Rs.10 lakhs is earmarked for Library, Books and Indian and International Journals. The library will have e-journals facility. An independent and large library facility is envisaged in the master plan.
Central Workshop: Though workshop component in the diploma courses identified by the Institute is relatively less, to make the student develop feeling towards the industry, workshop practice at least for one semester has been retained in the courses offered. Initially, carpet area of 200 sqm will be provided and an amount of Rs.5 lakhs has been provided in the project cost for the basic equipment required for such a workshop.
Computer Center: A computer center with carpet area of 187 sqm (computer lab and CAD/CAM Lab) is planned initially. An amount of Rs.17 lacs is earmarked in the Project Cost estimate to procure the hardware/software required. The area and the funds earmarked may be revised upwardly when the need arises.
Canteen: The Institute has built spacious cafeteria to cater to the needs of students and faculties. The cafeteria is open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the evening. The canteen provides hygienic food to students at an affordable rate. The facility is properly equipped with all necessary kitchen equipment and serves the fresh snacks, meal, chilled beverages and ice-creams. Breakfast and lunch are served at the cafeteria on the reasonable rates.
Transportation: We have our own fleet of buses, which punctually bring students from different corners of the city to our campus. Adequate provision with new and well maintain bus services for all students of city area.
