Shivalik Hills College of Education is located at the foot hills of Shivalik Hills in Village Patti, P.O.Manakpur, Tehsil Anandpur Sahib, Distt. Ropar. The college is surrounded by the Green fields on one side and hills on other. The lap of nature and its beautiful sights provide a peaceful and favourable envirnment to the students for learning.Shivalik Hills College of Education is running one year Bachelor of Education course from academic year 2005-06.
Library: The college has an excellent library housed in a commodious hall. The library is equipped with a very large number of books on education in particular and general subjects too. The library has a very rich collection to reference books, encyclopedias on educational research. The members of faculty enjoy the privilege of buying any book/books on behalf of the college which they might deem fit for the college library. As such the library reading room provides excellent atmosphere to students to update their knowledge in various fields. The library is going to be computerized for improved functioning.
Educational Technology: Educational Technology is one area of study and practices concerned with all aspects of all organization of educational system and procedures where by resources are allotted to achieve specified and potentially replicable educational out comes- Unwin and Mc Alease.Our educational Technology Laboratory comprises of various equipment and techniques which enable the student teacher to acquaint with techniques of modification of behavior.
Psychology Lab: Psychology Lab is a place where special tools procedures and method are used to test the Intelligence Quotient, Emotional Quotient, Aptitude, Attitude, Reasoning ability, Creativity, Personality traits, data interpretation and quantitative ability of the students.Special tools like Mirror drawing apparatus, Tachistescope fall type Apparatus, Human Maze. Apparatus- electrical, Thematic appreciation test , Draw-a –Man test, Koh’s Block Design test etc. are used to evaluate the candidate in the above mentioned areas and personal counseling after the evaluations helps the candidates to assess their performance and know their area of improvement.
Bus Facility: For the convenience of the students the bus facility is also provided which picks and drops the students from the Nangal town and hostel.
