S.I.E.R. is affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala and is recognized by National Council of Teacher Education, Jaipur for B.Ed. Course. The magnificient institute is spread over an area of 3 acres. The state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities not only provide simulating environment but also an ideal setting for professional training. After having paved its way through a highly commendable journey of more than four decades, the Shivalik Educational Society has ushered into the field of teacher education under its flagship, Shivalik Institute of Education and Research, a B.Ed. College at S.A.S Nagar(Mohali), from the academic session 2005-2006.
Library: ibraries are backbone of any civilized society and heart of any academic institution. Thus the SIER library also acquires a prominent place among the students and faculty. It is situated on first floor having area of 5000 square meters. The library has seating capacity of 50. The Library has a very rich collection of relevant books and journals on Education. The library services are provided to students, staff & school staff members for updating their knowledge and supporting the research and teaching / learning activities.
Mess Facility: he hostel dining hall is designed on modern lines with an adequate seating capacity. A nutritious and well balanced diet is served. Those availing this facility are required to observe the timings and discipline.
Sports Facility: The sprawling campus has world class facility for varied disciplines including gymnastics, athletics, lawn tennis, tables tennis, basketball, hockey and football. The enviable sports infrastructure includes a multipurpose Gymnasium hall with indoor deco turf tennis court , astroturf for hockey and football and two basket ball courts.
Auditorium: The Institute has a centrally air- conditioned state-of-the-art auditorium with a seating capacity of 1,100 with a spacious stage. It provides fresh impetus to the academic, literary and cultural activities in the institute, thus benefitting its pupil- teachers immensely.
Computer Lab: There is a well equipped ICI Lab having computer,TV OHP, LCD,Laptop and five-in-one music system.The prospective teachers are thus exposed not only to the pedagogical practices but also to computer-based programmed lessons, multimedia presentations and animated visuals. This facilitates conceptual clarity, increases interactivity eases content assimilation and also motivates the students to use this medium for delivering more visually effective lessons.
