The college is situated on the banks of Sirhind Canal, 20 Kms from Ludhiana. It is surrounded by natural beauty. The historic Damdama Sahib Gurudwara of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji and the fort of Sher Shah Suri provide a Majestic backdrop to this Institute. The Sirhind Canal flowing next to the Institute makes it a picturesque spot. The calm and serene location is most conducive to good education.The college derives inspiration from a great Saint, Sant Kartar Singh Ji Kamalia Wale. He is known for his lofty ideals, rich intellectual perception, unimpeachable devotion and selfless service to humanity. The basic philosophy of the college is based on the fabric of eastern thinking and western concepts. To achieve this goal, the Institute is targeted to impart global perspective to the teacher trainees.
Library and Reading Room: The college has a well-equipped library and reading room with more than 7877 books on different subjects which provide ample opportunity to the students for self-study, self enhancement and focused learning. It remain open during the college hours. The college reading room boasts of a large number of Indian and Foreign journals and Periodicals in Education, Educational Psychology, Educational Sociology, Educational Planning, Educational Technology and many more. Besides there are Journals in Hindi, Punjabi, Science and Social Sciences. The students can also take advantage from a variety of magazines and newspapers available in the college library. The library also has internet & Photostat facility for students. The seating capacity of the library is more than 80 students.
Computer Lab: The college has an excellent Computer cum Information Technology (IT) Lab equipped with 20 Pentium–IV Computers with Multimedia. All the computers are interconnected to form a LAN (Local Area Network). The college has a DOT Broadband Internet Connection for High Speed Internet Access.All the students are given time for gaining information through Internet. Wi-Fi access to Internet is available any where in the campus.
Medical Facility: Doraha being a developed town, has plenty of hospitals and nursing homes. Services of qualified, able and proficient doctors are available round the clock.
Canteen: There is an aesthetically maintained canteen which serves quality food to the students, staff and faculty at subsidizing rates.
Hostel Facility
Hostel Facilities Available: Hostel facility is available. Arrangements have been made to provide to and fro transport from Ludhiana, Doraha and surrounding areas of Doraha to the college.
Placement Service Available: Doraha College of Education has an active Guidance & Placement cell for counseling the students of the college as well as students of schools of the area. Resource persons from different fields deliver talks about career options to pupil-teachers and staff of the college. This knowledge about careers is then disseminated by pupil-teachers in different schools through guidance and career counseling seminars and workshops.
