The institution stood firm on the values it believed and evolved as one of the best colleges in the region. The institution which started with an intake of 150 students in 2001 has gradually grown to current intake of 930 students and the facilities and infrastructure are being improved continuously to facilitate quality learning. The Institute first started with under graduate courses in engineering and later on added Post graduate programs in engineering and Management sciences. So far nearly 3750 students have graduated from GATES. GATES provides direct employment to nearly 250 people and many more indirectly.
Central Library: Central library at Gates Institute of Technology embraces the vision and mission of the Institute by providing maximum access to relevant, authoritative, and scholarly resources to all its members which include students, teaching and non-teaching staff. Central Library is a spacious and well ventilated facility. Along with the central library there are independent departmental libraries which support research and teaching.To cater to the needs of Students and the Faculty, the Central Library is equipped with about 43,083 volumes and about 2399 Titles covering the core subjects as well as general subjects. The library is subscribing to e-journals, and National, International Journals and Magazines. All the books in the library are bar-coded and barcode laser scanners are used in the circulation counter.
Transportation: Gates operates 19 buses to turn the everyday journey to and from the college a pleasant and convenient one for its students and faculty. Out of 19 buses 6 come from Ananthapur, 7 from Guntaka l, 2 from Tadipatri and 4 from Gooty RS and Gooty. All the buses are very well maintained and strict instructions are given to the drivers not to exceed the speed limit of 60 Kilo Meters per hour. Only students with valid bus passes are allowed into the bus to ensure that no outsider gets into the bus. Canteen: GATES has a spacious and clean canteen to cater to the needs of students and staff. This well-furnished canteen can accommodate nearly 250 members at a time. Canteen serves delicious, nutritious and hygienic food. Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks, hot and cold beverages.Food in the canteen is served at reasonable prices. A lot of variety including Chinese is available in the canteen. Non vegetarian varieties are served every week on select days. Canteen remains open on all working days.
Hostel Facility
Hostel Facilities Available: When students come to GATES the first time, it is a great transition for them. They move out of the comfort zones of their homes and set foot in a new environment with hopes and aspirations mixed with apprehensions. We strive to bridge this gap by providing the best facilities in hostels, making them a home away from home.
Placement Service Available: Training and Placements cell @ Gates acts as a bridge between the Institute and the Industry. The main objective of this cell is to provide appropriate training to the students and make them industry ready and arrange campus interviews for final year students. Training and placement cell is headed by Mr. G Thomas Edwin and assisted by Mr.S.Tanveer Ahammad.
