Political Science department is committed to an open and serious analytical study of the discipline with inter-disciplinary and multi- disciplinary approach. It trains students to ask and answer questions like, "what values should guide our political choices, and how do we resolve conflicts between different segments of society? How far economic and geo-political interests affect foreign policy? What are the implications of different electoral and governing systems? How do citizens and legislators exercise their opinion on policies and their potential leaders?"
The faculty engages students in discussion and dialogue on various issues. The students are encouraged to take initiative to organise seminars, extension lectures, debates, camps, and declamation, etc. The department also arranges visit of students to Parliament sessions as part of the course curriculum for them to have a firsthand feel of the working of the seat of democracy
