The college was established on 5th July, 1995 as degree College with classes of Arts and Commerce Faculty. From session 2006-2007 P. G. classes came into existence in the Dept. of Home Science. Presently this College is affiliated withGovind Guru Tribal University Banswara and M. L. Sukhadia University, Udaipur and is recognized by U. G. C. The College is accredited by NAAC in B category.(2.21) All round development of girls is main motto of this College. Class room teaching regularity and on time completion of the prescribed syllabi is taken care of.Initially the College was established as GOVT. GIRLS COLLEGE, later on by State Govt. letter no. F-7(11) shiksha -3/95 dated 23.08.1996 its name has been changed to HARIDEV JOSHI GOVT. GIRLS COLLEGE. The College is governed by the rules and regulations of Director of College Education, Govt. of Rajasthan, Jaipur.From session 2010-2011, Faculty of Science (Bio group) also came into existence and MAths stream also started since2017-18.Hence classes of all the three faculties i.e. Arts, Commerce and Science are running regularly.
