Government Medical College Kottayam has been one of the largest and important medical colleges of India, ever since its inception. The Government Medical College (GMC), Kottayam started offering PG courses from 1973 and it got affiliated to the Gandhiji University (renamed Mahathma Gandhi University later), in 1980.The college is working on achieving certain aims and objectives and its main objective is to produce quality medical professionals for the well being of the people of Kerala.

	Eligibility Pre-degree exam with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with 50% marks. Mere pass for SC/ST. B.Sc degree holders with physics/ chemistry/zoology/botany/biochemistry as main and any one or two as subsidiary subjects with 50% marks
