Government Medical College, Miraj (dist. Sangli) is one of the oldest medical colleges in south western Maharashtra. This college was started in 1962 with 30 intake capacity without having own college and hospital building. Being inaugurated at hands of second president of India on 80 acres of barren land, two chief ministers were associated with this medical college in conceptualization and erection of building.
