Mt. Carmel College of Teacher Education for Women, established in 1953 is the First Aided Women's Training College in Kerala. Mount Carmel College of Teacher Education for Women, formerly known as Mount Carmel Training College belongs to the Carmelite Sisters of St. Teresa (CSST) Institute founded by Mother Teresa of St. Rose of Lima in the year 1887. It is affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.

The Hostel is under the direct control of the Principal of the college.
Students shall occupy the place allotted to them in the hostel. All arrangements should be made with the permission of the warden.
Any student leaving the hostel in the course of the month shall pay the charges for the whole month.
