Sree Narayana Mangalam Training College was established on July 20, 1960 as an arduous task of imparting teacher education to the weaker sections of the society. The College is situated at Moothakunnam on the banks of the mighty Periyar river in the vicinity of the famous Sankara Narayana Temple. The College is by the side of NH 66 and is 4 kilometers from Kodungallur, the famous ancient port town of Muziris. The nearest railway stations are at Irinjalakuda (15 kms) and Aluva (24 kms). The calm and serene atmosphere is quite conducive for intellectual pursuit.
In December the College started Post Graduate Course in education, M.Ed. with an intake of 25 students. Over the years, the College has set up a tradition of its own with regard to the decorum and decency of its student teachers.
