Jorhat Engineering College, the premier institution of North East India and the second Government Engineering College of Assam has completed its fifty years of relentless service to the society. The College came into existence on 7th January, 1959 at H.R.H.P.O.W. Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jorhat with the then Principal of the Institute, Sri H.N. Barua also as the Principal in-charge of Jorhat Engineering College. The College started functioning with admission of its first batch of students in Civil Engineering, on 10th October, 1960.
Transportation: The College owns three buses. They run daily from the college to the main town (i.e. Baruah chariali) along the way touching all the major as well as minor stoppages.
Guest House
Library: The Central Library, Jorhat Engineering College was established in 1960 along with the establishment of the college. The library holds 20000 volumes of books.
Medical Facility: Jorhat Engineering College has a Medical centre. It provides all the basic medical facilities to the students of the college.. Medicines are provided to the students free of cost. Besides these, it has all the necessary facilities like First Aids, Sick beds. etc.
