Government Engineering College Thrissur (GEC Thrissur), an ISO 9001: 2008 certified institution is one of the most prestigious and reputed technical education institution in south India. The College was established in the year 1957 with under graduate programmes in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical engineering branches. Since its inception, the college has shown enormous growth in all fronts and currently it is one of the most sought after college in engineering education with eight under graduate programmes, thirteen post graduate programmes and Ph.D. research programmes in engineering allied areas. The college is currently affiliated to the University of Calicut and APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University . 	Eligibility a) pass in the Pre-degree Examination of the University in Kerala State or Examinations considered equivalent there to with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects with a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics only and 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics Chemistry put together. OR b) Diploma in Engineering awarded by the Board of Technical Examinations of Kerala State or Examination considered equivalent thereto by the State Board of Technical Education after undergoing an Institutional course of at least 3 years, securing a minimum of 50% marks in the final diploma examination.
