Formerly known as Hindustan College of Engineering is started in the year 1985, was conferred the "University Status" by University Grants Commission (UGC), Government of India, Under Section 3 of UGC Act 1956 from the academic year 2008-09 and under the name HITS (Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science).Accredited by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)
Library : The Hindustan University Library system consists of a Central Library and Departmental Libraries which collectively support the teaching, research and extension programmes of the Institute. All students, faculty members and employees of the Institute are entitled to use the Library facilities enrolling membership.Besides, the Library has huge collection of books on Engineering, Science and Humanities through its various divisions
Transportation: Comfortable air conditioned buses are also available. The University operates a fleet of 50 buses to all the important city spots for the benefit of students and staff. The services of University buses are utilized for industrial visits, and excursions.
Banking:Indian Overseas Bank is situated within the University campus to cater to the banking needs of the students and staff.
Seminar Halls: There are six seminar halls which are fully air-conditioned and well equipped for seminars and presentations.
