Thanthai Periyar Government Institute of Technology, started in the year 1990, is one of the six Government Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu which is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and admits students purely on single window system of admissions. It belongs to Zone 6 of Anna University.
A sprawling campus surrounded by lush green cover, provides an ideal atmosphere for the students to learn and excel in the field of technical education.In addition to theoretically reinforcing the fundamental concepts of the Engineering College exposes the students to latest trends, keeping in mind with industry requirements, through interactive practical sessions, held in well equipped laboratories.
Library: The College has a well stocked library with Books, Video courses and CDs pertaining to various disciplines. Apart from engineering texts and books of technical importance, a number of books of general value and interest are available. It has a wide collection of over 20,730 volumes(Titles 11,114), which costs around 27 lakhs.
ATM Facility: The State bank of India has provided an ATM, which is at the entrance of the campus, useful for both students and the public
canteen :The College is providing canteen facility to the students as well as teaching and non teaching staff of the college,it is capable of catering the demands of the students. Generally the college provides it to any individual on contract basis after proper officials formalities. It is located at the center place of college campus.It provides hygienic and economical varieties of food. Breakfast, lunch are sold at reasonable prices. Other snacks, soft drinks are also available here.
GYM: Our College also encourages the students in developing their Physique. Our Gym is equipped with various machines such that it is brought up to the standards of a Private Gym.
Internet: we have high speed Internet connection in the college. Every working day students can avail internet from 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm at NET Lab which is located at MCA department.
