Eligibility
For admission to the course, seafarers must have completed sea service of not less than one year or have attended an approved training course and have sea service of not less than 6months. This course is open to seafarers who have completed basic training in Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting. The trainees must be certified by a Doctor (Approved by DGS) to be in good health and complete basic course

Those wishing to enter this course should have completed a course of training which meets or exceeds the requirements set out in IMO Assembly resolution 4.A.483(XII) training in Radar observation & plotting (IMO Model course No.1.07) (Radar Observation Simulator Course).

Leading to B.SC Nautical Science; Age –Upto 25 Years; The candidate has to clear the Medical standards set by M.S. Medical Examination Rule, 2000. Apart from these candidates have to undergo a full eyesight test conducted by the Mercantile Marine Department. 6/6 in each eye without visual aids with Normal colour vision.

Passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics with minimum 60% and English as separate subjects with minimum 50% marks in English Language at 10th or 12th standard exam
Passed three year's Diploma with 60% marks or four year's Degree, with 50% marks in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication / Communication Engineering, or Electronics and Instrumentation or equivalent.
The diploma/degree courses must have been recognized by any State or Central Government or the AICTE
