University of Tasmania Australia is offering Dean of Law Merit Scholarships for international students at the University of Tasmania. The Dean of Law’s Merit Scholarship is the most prestigious law scholarship is generously funded by the College of Arts, Law and Education to encourage high performing international students from India, Malaysia, Singapore and Sri Lanka to study Law at the University of Tasmania, commencing in Winter Semester (June) of this year, and Semester 1 (February), for coming year.

Scholarship Value

Duration: Four years

12 scholarships are available for the Winter Semester (June) and for Semester 1 consisting of: Four (4) scholarships covering 100% registered tuition fees, and eight (8) scholarships covering 50% registered tuition fees.
Course tuition fees (which includes Student Services and Amenities Fees).

Eligibility

This scholarship is available to international students from India, Malaysia, Singapore and Sri Lanka who meet the following eligibility criteria:

Are citizens of one of the above listed countries;
Applicants of Indian citizenship must have received an offer of a full-time place in:
A combined Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (63J1) commencing in either Winter (June) current year or Semester 1 (February) of coming year.
have not previously undertaken any tertiary studies (excluding extension studies completed as part of a year 12 program or its equivalent); and are not applying for advanced standing/credit.

To retain this award, recipients are required to remain enrolled full-time (100% per year) in one of the above listed degrees and achieve a Credit (5.0/7.0) cumulative grade point average (CGPA) at the end of each academic year.

Submit the form prior to the closing date and email to: international.scholarships@utas.edu.au. Please ensure care is taken with spelling and grammar.

Students who have received valid and current offers to commence an eligible law degree are encouraged to submit an application for this scholarship, which includes four (4) questions, each requiring a response of 500 words.
The scholarship selection committee shall announce the scholarship winners. All decisions are made by the scholarship selection committee and are final.
Students who are successful with their application (“the scholarship recipient”) will be notified by telephone and email.
The names of students who have been awarded a scholarship (“scholarship recipients”) may be published on the University of Tasmania’s website within 48 hours of the scholarship selection committee making its determination.

Late applications will not be accepted.
