Jacobs University, one of Germany's top private English-language universities, invites prospective students to take part in its Counseling Days to be held via Video-Chat. From May 9 to May 13, 2016, prospective students will have the opportunity to speak with an admission officer, who will provide guidance and support in the application and admission process. And they will get first-hand information from Jacobs University students about campus life and their student experiences.

Germany is not only the nation in Europe with the largest economy, with many well-known companies such as Daimler, Volkswagen, Siemens, or SAP, and, of course, that is the football world champion. It is also a country with a high standard of education and very good universities. Situated in the north of Germany, in the old and Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, Jacobs University is Germany's most international university. Around 1,200 clever minds from more than 100 countries are gathered here on a residential campus. There are a number of students and lecturers from India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.

The Jacobs University curriculum ranges from natural sciences, mathematics, and engineering to social sciences and economics. Students can earn an internationally recognized Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree, or can take part in pre-degree programs. Class sizes are small, so that there is close interaction with faculty members and fellow students. Besides seminars and lectures, there are extended practical phases. The courses offered have already been top-rated many times in international rankings. Jacobs University is famous for its approach to teaching and research: global challenges are not only considered from the point of view of a particular discipline, but researchers and students from different fields develop solutions working closely together.

Students live on campus in comfortable colleges, in which they can also celebrate their traditional festivities such as Diwali and get to know the cultures of their fellows. Students are able to pursue their hobbies in a number of societies or do social work. A guest family program is provided to acquaint them with German culture. The common language is English, and German language courses are part of the education. After graduation from Jacobs University, the world will be at their feet! Many graduates continue their studies at well-known universities in the USA or in Great Britain. Some work for large companies such as Google or Airbus, others for research institutions or international organizations.

Admission to Jacobs University is highly selective. It is based on a candidate's academic and social achievements. Applications should be submitted by July 1, 2016, via CommonApp.

More information about the admission process and the Financial Assistance Program will be given during the Video-Chat Counseling Days. Prospective students can register online at http://jacobs-university.de/oca-registration. Places for the Video-Chat are limited and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
