Telangana government to establish Sports Schools in each district : Minister

Telangana government will establish Sports Schools in each district in a phased manner. During the current academic year, one sports school was started at Adilabad district and there was a proposal to set up sports schools in other districts in due course, Minister for Sports T Padma Rao Goud said in the Council while responding to a question raised by members in the House.

There are three sports schools existing in the state, he added.

The guidelines for admission of students into sports schools will be from 4th standard for boys and Girls who are in 8 years of age group, Mr Rao said.

The selection of highly talented children will be in 3-tier system Mandal , District and State level and the selection process which will start from May, will be completed by third week of July every year, the Minister said.
