Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today said that government would provide incentives to the meritorious students who would get Rs one lakh each for preparation of competitive examinations.
This was stated by the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while presiding over the
function held here on Wednesday.
He said that to encourage the enrollment
in state run School a scheme 'Akhand Shiksha Jyoti Mere Schools Se Nikle Moti'
has been started by the state government.
He said that under the scheme,
old students who have passed out from the schools of the state and now holding
top positions in various establishments in corporate world should act as role
models, motivators and guide for the students to enable them to excel in their
lives.
Mr Thakur said that despite consistent efforts by government to
tackle decreasing enrolment in state run schoolpeople are not coming forward to
admit their wards in such education institutions.
Government would ale to
inspire others students who are not studying in state owned chools to join them
afterexploring the glory of such institutions by such schemes.
All alumni
of educational institutions in the State would visit thier old schools and
college to assist the students in career counselling and sharing success stories
as an inspiration etc. He said that there was no dearth of talent in the State
and the only thing required was to give them a direction.
He said that
the Government has decided to provide rupees one lakh each to 500 meritorious
students of the State for preparing for various competitive examinations like
IIT, NEET, IIIT, IIM, JEE, IAS, HAS etc. under the new Scheme Medha Protsahan
Yojana.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the entrepreneurs would also provide
information and support to the youth regarding meaningful job opportunities in
corporate world and in career profiling of these youth through Centre of
Excellence-cum-Incubation Centres established in ten selected colleges of the
State to tackle problem of growing unemployment in the State.
They would
also act as friends of the college students and guide and help in mentoring them
for job in today's dynamic job markets, he added.
The
Chief Minister said that the Government schools have contributed immensely
towards development of the State and society by producing bright students who
have created a special place for themselves in different fields. He said that
today there was craze among the parents to admit their children in private
schools.
Now, in order to motivate the parents to admit their children in
Government schools, the State Government has decided to start primary classes in
3391 Government schools in first phase.
