IIMC invites applications for Journalism courses

Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), an internationally acclaimed Institution for training and research in mass communication and journalism, under the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, invites applications for entrance examination in 2018. The exam is the gateway to various Post Graduate Diploma Courses offered by IIMC through its different Centres, including the Southern Regional Campus at Kottayam in Kerala. Other Centres are located in Delhi, Dhenkanal (Odisha), Aizwal (Mizoram), Amaravati (Maharashtra) and Jammu (J and K). Kottayam Centre of IIMC offers one year Post-graduate Diploma Courses in Malayalam Journalism and English Journalism. Other courses being offered at IIMC Centres include PG Diploma in Hindi Journalism, English Journalism, Radio and Television Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations, Odia Journalism, Urdu Journalism, and Marathi Journalism.

Bachelor's degree in any discipline is the eligibility to apply. Students who have appeared / are appearing in the final year degree/semester examination can also apply.

Candidates born after August one, 1993 can apply. SC/ST, differently abled and OBC candidates will get relaxation regarding age limit. The annual fee for English Journalism is Rs 79000 and that of Malayalam Journalism is Rs 43000 respectively. The IIMC entrance examination for Urdu/Marathi/Odia and Malayalam Journalism will be held on May 26 and the entrance exam for Hindi/English Journalism, Radio and TV Journalism, and Advertising and Public Relations will be conducted on May 27.

Kottayam is the only examination centre in Kerala. Interview will be conducted during the last week of June/first week of July 2018. The academic sessions will begin during the last week of July/first week of August 2018. Last date for receipt of application form is May one.
