School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada, (in short SPAV), was established on July 7, 2008 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, as an autonomous institution. SPAV is a premier Centrally Funded Technical Institution (CFTI) directly under the MHRD, for excellence in the fields of Planning and Architecture. Although in its nascent stage, with experienced faculty and guest lectures by eminent visiting faculty and industry experts from all over the country, the quality of education imparted and its focus on research puts SPAV in the league of leading institutes in the country. At SPAV, the academic focus and approach is a unique blend of design, creativity and objectivity with a social purpose. Students not only learn the skills required, but during the course of studies are exposed to though-provoking and intellectually inspiring sessions, through studios, field trips and research projects, which brings out the creative best in them.
SPAV Library: The Library of School of Planning and Architecture Vijayawada (SPAV) is an integral part of an academic system whose primary function is not only to serve students, researchers, faculty and staff but also to create a conducive environment for education, research and innovation.
Computer Networking and Security: SPAV has an advanced computer lab providing wireless network to students, faculty and staff. The LAN caters to approximately 800 users at a time. All common areas are connected by WiFi. 1-GBPS Internet connectivity provided through NKN-NMEICT.
Material Testing Lab: The School has established a full-fledged material lab with all the equipment for testing various construction materials.
Material Museum : A material museum was established for the display of various types of construction materials.
Climatology cum Environment Lab: This lab was setup in 2014 with latest equipment such as Hot Air Oven, Hot Plate, Incubator, Muffle Furnace, Connectivity Meter, FPM Compressor, Photometer, Analyser, etc.
