Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT) is a constituent college of Sikkim Manipal University located in Tadong, Gangtok. Established in 1997, SMIT is part of the renowned Manipal Group that has made its mark in the field of education and health services in India and abroad. SMIT enjoys approval by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and University Grants Commission (UGC). It is also accredited by NBA. In addition, it also holds ISO 9001 accreditation vide NS-EN ISO 9001:2000.

Library:The institute has a well equipped library which caters to the needs of students and teachers. Besides course related books, the library also stocks general books.
Hostel Facility
Sikkim Manipal University has a separate hostel facilities provided for students at both it's campuses i.e technical campus at Majitar and Medical campus at Tadong Sikkim. All the hostels services provided have best state of the arts facilities to make student comfortable far from their homes. All the hostels are under the supervision of their respective Chief wardens.
The hostel provides a cot, mattress, study table, chair, book rack and wardrobe for each student. Every hostel has uninterrupted electricity, hot water facility during winter period, water cooler with Aquaguard filters, recreation hall, gymnasium and indoor games facilities.
SMIT enjoys a strong student placement record.
