The college provides an excellent opportunity for interaction among students coming from various ethnic and linguistic background. College has accredited with "A" Grade by NAAC, and selected by UGC as Centre with Potential Excellence.
The present enrolment in the college is around 2500 (excluding private and casual students), which may be considered good considering the fact that at present there are eight other DGIA college, in the district.
College Gymnasium: Keeping in view the fitness aspects of the whole community of the college, a well equipped multi-gymnasium is set up in the college premises under the XIth Plan of UGC.It is in fully functioned since the year 2013.
Hostel Facility
The college has both boys and girls hostel inside the college campus. The boys' hostel can accomodate 30 boarders and girls' hostel has capacity of accomodating 150 boarders. The hostel seats are provided strictly on the basis of merit only, and a few seats are reserved for ST/SC students.
The college provides well marked facilities to the students in the field of games and sports.
Biotech Hub: Department of Biotechnology (DBT), India under the Ministry of Science and Technology has awarded the “BIOTECH HUB” from 30. 11. 2011 for 3 years to Debraj Roy College to set up a well equipped Biotechnology Laboratory for teaching and research in the field of biological science as a part of special program.
