Pragjyotish College

When Pragjyotish College was established on 1st September 1954, seven years after Independence, it became a beacon light of learning and a symbol of aspirations for the common people of Assam. At present, it is a well-known full-fledged degree college, imparting higher education in Arts, Science and Commerce streams. The College also has two post-graduate departments, viz. Assamese and Tourism Management. It is affiliated to Gauhati University

 Hostel Facility
The college has Girls Hostel facility within the college premises. Hostel seats are allotted after admission on the basis of merit and first come first serve basis.
 
 Scholarship Facility
Meritorious students who obtain more than 70% marks in the final examination i.e. HSLC or HS (Final) Examination shall enjoy merit scholarship/ stipend within 15 days from the date of their admission. Applications not received in time will not be entertained.
