Government Womens College

Government Swami Atmanand College was established on 14 Sept. 1988 as adiwasi vikas yojana by the Govt. of Madhya Pradesh under department. of higher education. An Undergraduate Arts faculty co-education college starting with 10 students from Jan-pad building and under the name of Government College, Which is affiliated to Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur, The College got registered under section 2f and 12B of UGC Act in the year 1992. At the time of its inception the total number of regular students enrolled in the discipline of Arts only 157. Narayanpur College to provide higher education in this backward & rural area (Abuzmand Tribal Zone) of the Chhattisgarh state. From the academic year 2001-02 the Bachelor Degree Program in Commerce & year 2005-06 Science is also being run. It was renamed on 2008-09 after the name of famous Swami Atmanand, at present affiliated to Bastar University (Dharampura) Jagdalpur, District Bastar (C.G.). In addition to it, The College holds in its profile four Postgraduate Courses namely M.A. (Geography), M.A. (Economics), M.A. (Sociology) and M.A. (Political Science) as well initially was being run temporarily. Under the jan bhagidari fund. It was shifted to its new large campus of nearly 25 acres, situated beside the natural beautiful of lush green area.

Auditorium: Seminars, Conferences, Workshops and various cultural activities are organized in the college throughout the session. For organizing such activities the college has a well-furnished and well-equipped Auditorium. It can accommodate more than 250 persons at a time.

Canteen :Canteen facility has been provided to the students, teachers and staff in the college campus. It provides snacks, tea, coffee, cold drinks etc. during college hours. The canteen is run by a private party on contract basis. There is a Canteen Committee in the college to monitor quality of eatables, hygiene and prices thereof.
