The Thrissur Regional Campus of Sree Sankaracharya University started with the inaugural ceremony on 26th June 1996 at Vivekodayam School Campus. Eminent personalities like Panditharajan K.P. Narayana Pisharody. Swami Mridanandaji, Sri. V.V. Raghavan the then M.P of Thrissur, the first Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and Chief Secretary to Govt. of Kerala, Sri. R. Ramachandran Nair participated in the inaugural function. Right from the inception of the centre three P G Departments (Sanskrit Sahitya, Malayalam and Hindi) with sanctioned student strength of 30 students (in each Department) are functioning. P.G. Department in Sanskrit Nyaya was introduced in 2005. At Present these four departments are offering P G Courses in the respective subjects.
