Welcome to K.A.P.Viswanatham Government Medical College, Tiruchirapalli. K.A.P.Viswanatham Government Medical College is situated in the heart of Rockfort City. The College is named in the memory of K.A.P.Viswanatham, who is a well-known Tamil scholar. K.A.P.Viswanatham Government Medical College was started in the year of 1997 to accommodate 100 Under graduate students(both State and All India Quota). Since the year 2007, Post graduate courses were also started. Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital is attached to K.A.P.V Medical College. It is situated 2 km away from the college campus. This hospital has been named after the Father of our Nation. Its now being called as Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital, which is situated in Puthur, one of the busiest and prominent locations in Tiruchirapalli.
LECTURE HALLS: Five lecture halls (4 in college campus - seating capacity of 180 each, 1 in hospital campus - seating capacity 250) well equipped with the state of the art AV aids (e - classes)
COMMON ROOMS: Separate common rooms are provided for male and female students.
Library: Library is the Mirror of Education it reflects academic interest of the institution. From 1999 onwards K.A.P.Viswanatham Government Medical College library is functioning in its own building. Central Library is located within the College premises in the area of 1635 m2 Library can accommodate 100 students at one time. Books are arranged in catagory wise for easy referral and both indian and foreign journals available in adequate number.
ROOMS:Separate reading room available for professors, asst professors, post graduates and Undergraduate. Library well provided with adequate number of fan ,light andgood ventilation and table chair facilities. Separate E Library for the students with internet facilities also available . AUDITORIUM:Spacious auditorium for the conduction of cultural and academic activities
CAFETERIA:A Cafeteria attached with the student's cooperative stores is being run inside the college campus for the benefit of the students and staff.
