Teri University : Department of Biotechnology

The Department of Biotechnology at TERI University offers both master's and doctoral programmes. The department is committed to the furtherance of the scientific enterprise through the establishment of a vigorous research programme, and to contribute to post-graduate level academic programmes to cater to national requirements in basic science as well as agricultural and environmental applications.

Laboratory: The laboratory is capable of conducting all kinds of soil, water and air monitoring experiments required at master’s level. The laboratory has been created with an objective of providing a facility with all the basic equipments required for analysis of environmental samples (soil, waste, water and air). It caters to the interdisciplinary application in research to all the master’s students (science based) of the university. This laboratory facility is common for MSc (ES, NRM, WRM and CSP) programs
Library:The library exemplifies modern methods for creating, applying and utilizing digital information. It contributes to students, faculty and society at large by being a repository of raw information capital in areas related to the university''s research and teaching. The library has the potential, capacity, and infrastructure to promote activities such as sharing and management of digital resources, distance online teaching and learning, virtual referencing, user centric digital services and fostering an environment conducive to research, teaching and learning.
 
 Hostel Facility
The TERI University strives to create best possible hostel facilities for ladies at the ‘green campus at Vasant Kunj. The hostel has Energy-efficient features installed as part of the ''Green campus''with a well-equipped gym, Basket ball playing area, Round-the-clock security guards with electronic surveillance, Table-Tennis, Cafeteria, Recreational room where students can watch television,Recreational room to play carom and chess, Music Room
 
 Scholarship Facility
TERI University offers a limited number of scholarships to students joining the doctoral and master''s programmes. All grants to TERI University students are made on a competitive basis, with due consideration for both means and merit. The criteria for selection are such that they encourage students to continuously strive towards academic and professional excellence.

The placement cell of the University is a dynamic unit, which was set up with the objective of exploring placement opportunities at an institutional level. The placement cell acts as the focal point for prospective employers. To facilitate interaction between them and the students, the placement cell organizes pre-placement talks (PPTs) on dates of mutual convenience, where the organizations participating in the placement process are requested to make a brief presentation about themselves and the opportunities and prospects for the aspirants.
