College of Biotechnology was established in the year 1999. Over the years, the College has established excellent facilities for research. Tissue Cultured Plantlets Production is a major activity of the College besides Post Graduate Programme in Biotechnology. The College has seven sections: Tissue Culture, Molecular Biology, Bio-chemistry, Microbiology, Embryo Transfer Technology, Fermentation Technology & Bioinformatics.
Library: Excellent library facility exists in the Faculty with Computer, Internet, Xerox facilities.
Transport Facilities: The College has 3 Bus for transport of students & teachers from Ranchi town to Kanke & conduct of exposure visits, NSS work & other activities. Staff Car, Ambulence & Jeep are also available for various works.
Hostel Facility
The college of biotechnology has four separate hostels for boys and three for girls. The hostel mess is managed by the student mess committee. The University is fully residential.
