Government Ayurveda College, Kannur, Pariyaram, is one of the prestigious Educational Institution in Kerala which is functioning under the Controll of the Director of Ayurveda Medical Education, Thiruvananthapuram (Health and family welfare Department - Government of Kerala). The College imparts education in the field of Ayurveda which is an ancient system of medicine evolved from India. The Institution follows the norms and regulations of CCIM /AYUSH – under Government of India, Principal Acts as the Head of the Institution.
library :The library is situated in the ground floor of the A Block College building with a 2600 square feet area; it has the seating capacity of 60 people at a time. Library has rich collection of books which related with ayurveda, modern medicine, general books such as Malayalam literature, and competitive examination books. Library has acquired ‘Book Magic’ Software package that supports all in housekeeping activities of the library
Hostel Facility
Mens Hostel: The Men’s Hostel of Government Ayurveda College, Pariyaram started the year 1998. The hostel building is one-storeyed and is situated at the college campus. The hostel has 15 double rooms for the inmates. Each room has facility to lodge 2 students. Separate Reading room, Computer room , TV room, Mess hall and Kitchen are available at the hostel.The mess hall has the capacity to hold 35 students at a time. The Hostel is governed by a Hostel union in which a Secretary and President along with other members controls the hostel and are elected for the duration of 1year.The inmates has also started a vegetable garden and a herbal garden. A well equipped computer room for their curricular activities are arranged upstairs. A ground other than the college ground is available for the physical strengthening of the hostel inmates.
Ladies Hostel :Govt Ayurveda College was established in the year 1998,Ladies Hostel is situated to the left of the college , very adjacent to the college as well as hospital premises,Hostel has a 3 storeyed building and consists of 38 rooms with all basic facilities.computer Room, Lavish Mess Hall where 65 students can dine at a time, single dormitory equipped with beds for the 30 students, Spacious Courtyard and Varandha with beautiful /garden outside. Each of the Rooms Provides Individual Cots,Table , Chair and Shelfs for the 3 inmates with standard Electrical Facilities.Mess is Controlled by Students Themselves.
