University of Kerala : Department of Biotechnology

The University Department of Biotechnology was established in 1995. It offers postgraduate Degree and Doctoral Degree in Biotechnology. The department has an extension wing on Bacteriology quality drinking water-testing and training center facility. The department started to initiate Biotechnology education as programme to generate trained manpower to meet the industry's demand. The course curriculum of PG programme in Biotechnology and Doctoral Research programms are meticulously designed to impart practical oriented training in all areas of Biotechnology as required by the biotechnology industry. The department is engaged on both basic and applied aspects of Biotechnology Research.

Now the Department is provided with all basic and essential laboratory facilities for carrying out doctoral research programmes in modern areas of Biotechnology.
