NIFT Bhubaneswar center is one of the latest addition to the existing countrywide gamut of NIFT. It started functioning from June 2010 from its transit campus. Our new NIFT campus is located in Patia, Bhubaneswar, 15 KM. from Bhubaneswar railway station and 18 KM from Bhubaneswar airport. It is well connected to every part of the city through city buses and taxies.
National Institute of Fashion Technology was set up in 1986 under the aegis of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. It has emerged as the premier Institute of Design, Management and Technology, developing professionals for taking up leadership positions in fashion business in the emerging global scenario. NIFT has been granted statutory status under the act of Parliament of India in 2006, empowering the Institute to award degrees and other academic distinctions.
Internet: NIFT-Bhubaneswar is connected with National Knowledge Network(NKN) of 1GBps bandwidth. Internet facility is provided in the Hostel and Activity Hall for the students
Design Studios: The design studios on campus offer ample opportunity to students to experiment and innovate, while the laboratories provide hi-technology work areas covering real-time aspects of the industry. These studios are in the process of being set up.
High Quality Lecture Rooms: Well-equipped classrooms use advanced teaching methodology, designed for highly interactive sessions.
Resource Centre : The National Resource Centre at New Delhi and the Resource Centre at each NIFT centre are pillars of information and knowledge management. Each Resource Centre has an integrated collection of print, visual and creative material resources: the only systematically documented source of information available in India for study of international and contemporary Indian fashion. The Resource Centres also provide information services to the design community, industry practitioners and entrepreneurs.
Hostel Facility
There is a provision for Girls’ Hostel within the campus. Girl Hostel situated at NIFT Campus, Plot 24 Chandaka Industrial Estate, Patia, Bhubaneswar (near by Patia Big Bazar Square),Bhubaneswar-751 024.The NIFT Bhubaneswar hostel provides semi-furnished rooms including table, chair, inbuilt shelves, bed, mattress, etc.The hostel timings are maintained in order to maintain security and decorum. Medical facilities in terms of bi-weekly doctor’s consultation will be available at the NIFT Bhubaneswar hostel.
