It was established in the year 2007 and affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University (Rono Hills, Doimukh). Earlier it was known as St. Thomas Institute of Legal Studies (SILS) but later it was changed to its present name. Arunachal Law Academy is approved by Bar Council of India (BCI), Government of India, New Delhi.
