Kalinga institute of nursing sciences (KINS) is an integral part of school of medicine. This school of medicine, under KIIT- University is committed to provide promotive preventive, curative and rehabilitative services to all to achieve excellence in nursing education and nursing services.KINS is a pioneer institute of Nursing education in Odisha, academically affiliated to KIIT -Deemed University & recognized by Indian Nursing Council (INC) and state Nursing council, Odisha.KINS was inspected by INC in the year 2005 and permitted annual intake of 30 students for GNM program. 1st batch GNM was admitted in the year 2008-2009 academic session. In 2010 GNM seat was enhanced from 30 to 50 students. Thus 50 students were admitted in the 2010-2011 session. Basic B.sc,4 years degree program of 4 years was started from 2010-2011 session after approval of INC with annual intake of 40 students. In 2012-13 session 2 year Post Graduate Nursing degree was started with four specialties from the academic session 2012. The B.Sc Nursing seat was enhanced from 40-60 annual intake.
Laboratories: Well equipped fundamental lab, Nutrition lab, Community lab, Pediatric lab, O & G Lab, Medical Surgical lab, Computer lab, A.V.Aids lab with net connections.
Library: The library is fully computerized with WiFi connection. The students can access to CINAHL, MEDLINE etc. Adequate test books Journals in hard copies are catalogued. Further the students are allowed to access to the central library for reference & research work.
Class Room: Well ventilated, adequate space with advanced teaching learning materials.Facilities for meeting & Conferences - It provides excellent ambience for national & international level conferences & seminars.
Bank Facilities: Many bank & ATM centers are available in the campus.
Transportation: Transportation- Institution has its own fleet of buses to cater to the transportation needs of its students, staff members & visiting guests & these buses services as a link between the campus & the city.
Sport & Fitness centre: KIIT Sports & fitness centre has a swimming pool, multi gym besides facilities for other sports and game.
Hostel Facility
Hostel Facilities Available: There are separate hostel for boys & girls with round the clock wireless internet connectivity. All the hostels have attached canteens serving good quality Indian & Continental foods. A dedicated international hostel accomodadates foreign students. Each hostel has 24 hours reading room & facility for indoor & outdoor games.
