National lnstitute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER)is an autonomous institution established under the aegis of Department of Chemical and Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers at Hajupur, district Vaishali, Bihar It is being set up as a centre of excellence for higher education, research and development in pharmaceutical sciences under Act of Parliament. The Institute is conceived to provide leadership in pharmaceutical sciences and other related areas and admits students for M.s.
(Pharm.) Pharmaco-informatics, M.s. (Pharm.) Pharmacy Practice and M.s. (Pharm.) Biotechnology to begin with. Subsequently more postgraduate and doctoral programmes courses would be added on the lines of NIPER,SASNagar, Mohali (Punjab).
A full-fledged campus is envisaged to set up on 100 acres of land to be allotted by Bihar Government near the present site. It would be the Endeavour of the Government to setup the permanent campus in public-private partnership model to the extent possible. Well equipped library with automation system as well as broadband and ISDN internet connectivity for several nodes to all the laboratories and departments. Excellent facilities with good no. of journals and equipped with modern gadgets for literature collection and online access to the "Science direct".
