Mahatma Gandhi Mission’s Medical College , Kamothe, Navi Mumbai is established in Aug. 1989. This is one of the best teaching and research institutions in Maharashtra State recognized by the Medical Council of India for undergraduate and various post graduate degree ,diploma & superspecialty courses recognized by Medical Council of India. This College is a constituent unit of MGM Institute of Health Sciences, Deemed University u/s. 3 of UGC Act 1956).
Library:The Library has in all 40 computers under LAN with Internet browsing terminals. UGC INFLIBNET, MEDLINE Complete: a superset of MEDLINE with Full-Text, (more than 1800 Health Sciences Journals), CINAHL with Full-Text (777 Nursing Journals), Dentistry & Oral Sciences (291 Journals on Dentistry), and, MUHS Digital Library Database online access to Full-Text e-journals and e-books in the area of health sciences. In addition, the library subscribes 151 e-journals (International - 67 and National – 84) accessible electronically to users. It has a separate Reprographic Unit with a photocopier machine for providing photocopies of documents. It provides counseling and bibliographic assistance.
It has CD & DVD-ROMs access facilities (524 databases), Reference and Referral facilities, Inter Library Loan facility, Document Delivery, & Information Clearinghouse. The library provides Orientation Education Programme to library users from time to time in order to facilitate them to access requisite information pin-pointedly and without wastage of time.
Central Research Laboratory Facilities: It has established aState -of –the- Art laboratoriesfor serology, molecular biology, immunology and tissue culture. Over the years large amount of clinical data has been generated. This has been used to develop models for Care and Treatment strategies. The main focus of research is on HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, Dengue, Hepatitis, malaria and toxoplasma, Models of comprehensive care for HIV / AIDS have evolved over a period of time with integrated approach.
