G.T.P. College of Education for Women was started in 1984 in Bhimavaram to facilitate professional training to women candidates. The college is named after the Chief Donar Sir. Pedatata and his beloved wife Tulasamma. The College is Affiliated to Andhra University, and Recognition was granted of N.C.T.E. Bangalore, for B.Ed. 1997, M.Ed. 2004 and D.Ed. 2005. Permanent Affiliation was granted to the college by the Andhra University from the academic year 2006-07. The College has applied for recognition under 2f, 12B U.G.C. Act.
Library Building : The college library is a two storied building and it has a collection of more than 4,000 Volumes / Reference material and 22 Educational Journals, Research volumes and Encyclopedias. Adequate reading place is provide to the needs of students of B.Ed., M.Ed. and D.Ed. separately and for staff.
Laboratories :
There are subject wise departments / laboratories for all the methodology subject wiz Physical Science, Mathematics, Biological Science, Social Studies, English and Telugu. These laboratories are equipped with the instructional material purchased and models and charts prepared by students. The Psychology laboratory is well equipped with Psychological and Educational tests material.
Physical Education:
The Physical Education room is equipped with items of indoor games ie., Caroms, Chess, Table Tennis etc. The big play ground in the college campus is used for games like Khokho, Shuttle, Kabaddi, Hand Ball, Volley Ball, Tennicoit etc. Students are also trained in yoga. A gym is also provided to keep themselves fit which is an unique feature of the college.
Hostel Facility
Hostel Facility is provided to the students and the hostel is also located in the college campus accommodating mote than 100 students.
Scholarship Facility
Scholarship are being sanctioned to the eligible SC and BC students by the department of Social Welfare – A.P. towards fee reimbursement and mess charges
