Hindusthan Educational and Charitable Trust, one of the finest in education and teaching is strategically placed in the heart of the city, and since 1992 has established itself firmly in the fields of Arts, Science, Education and Technical Education.
library: The college library is fully automated with wide collection of the latest books, periodicals, and CD/DVD which is expanded and updated every year. The library functions in a networked environment with pc have to support its various operations and services.
Laboratories: The labs are equipped to carry out research programmes also. The Department of Visual Communication deserves special mention for its excellent infrastructural facilities. The Photography lab requires special mention for being equipped with the latest digital cameras, video cameras, handy cameras, with which the students receive handson training. The students of Costume Design and Fashion Technology are fortunate to have hi-tech labs for their practical like computerized sewing machines and equipment for teaching dyeing, block printings to the students. The college also provides the students of Catering Technology and Hotel Management with the best training kitchen, a restaurant, a front office, to enable the students to have personalized training. The Department of Electronics is equipped with the latest gadgets, devices, embedded system VLSI design and processors.
Language Lab:A well-equipped language lab has been set up to enhance individual’s English language competence. It facilitates to develop the communication skills of the students. Many tasks based on the International English Language Testing System are also available.
Internet Facilities: The college provides the students with Internet facility at free of cost.
The computer labs are equipped with 8 mbps and an average of 100 students can access the Internet at a time. The students are allowed to use it even after their college hours.
Cafeteria: There is a canteen situated inside the campus which provides vegetarian and non vegetarian food. They also provide with snacks, hot and cold drinks. There are separate rooms for staff and students. There are also five cafeteria to provide snacks and drinks.
Hostel Facility
The Hostels are situated within the campus of Hindusthan College of Arts & Science. The ambience is so much of a home to reveal that hostel can be called a home away from home. There are separate hostel facilities for boys and girls. Nearly 1500 students are accommodated in both the hostels. They are provided with Vegetarian and Non Vegetarian food. There is a central canteen and six cafeteria inside the college premises.
Scholarship Facility
Government of India Scholarship:Students belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes are eligible to apply for the award of the scholarship.
Backward Class Welfare State Scholarship
Students belonging to Backward / Most Backward Classes can apply for the award of the scholarship, if the annual income of their parents does not exceed Rs.50,000/-
National Loan Scholarship
The students who have secured 50% and above in aggregate in the higher secondary Examination or equivalent examination may apply for National Loan Scholarship. First preference will be given only to those who have secured 60% and above. A minimum number of forms are sent by the Director of Collegiate Education every year, to the college.
Harijan Welfare Scholarship Under State Scheme
The students who belong to Adi-Dravidar converts are eligible for this scholarship. The annual income of their parents should not exceed Rs.50,920/-
Scholarship to the Physically Handicapped Students:Prescribed forms of application can be had from the Director of Social Welfare, 486, Anna salai, Nandanam, Chennai – 600035, on requisition with self-addressed stamped envelope.
Scholarship to the Children, Grand Children of Freedom Fighters:The students who are the children or grand children of freedom fighters, whose monthly income does not exceed Rs.560/- can apply for this scholarship.
Defence Service Personnel’s Children:Children of Defence Service Persons can apply for full fee concession.
Scholarship to Children Of Ex-Serviceman:Children of Ex-Servicemen can contact the District Soldiers & Sailors and Airmen Board Office for supply of application form.
Harijan Welfare Loan Scholarship:The Scheduled Caste students who are staying in the hostel can apply for the award of Harijan and Tribal Welfare Loan Scholarships.
