Women's Christian College, Chennai ranked 10th at the All India level among the best colleges in the Arts and Science category in the NIRF rating by the Ministry for Human Resource Development was founded in 1915 by the combined effort of 12 Missionary Societies from Britain, Canada and the United States of America. The mission of the college is to provide “a complete, meaningful and relevant education to women so that they are intellectually well-trained, morally upright, socially aware and spiritually inspired.” Autonomous since 1982, WCC is affiliated to the University of Madras and has been accredited by NAAC with an ‘A’ Grade in 2005 and 2012. Eligibility
A student who has passed the Class 10 examination conducted by an examining body constituted by law in India or (an examination recognized by the Central Government as equivalent thereto ) may register for Common Proficiency Test. A registered student may appear in Common Proficiency Test after he has appeared in the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 examination) conducted by an examining body constituted by law in India or an examination recognised by the Central Government as equivalent thereto and has complied with such requirements as may be specified by the Council from time to time
