This college is one of the renowned State Government Colleges in Higher Education, founded by Periyar Erode Venkata Ramasamy, a great Social Activist, Social Reformer and the founder of the Self Respect Movement. The approval for the College was given and it was inaugurated in 1965 by the then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Honourable M. Bhakthavachalam. Periyar E.V.R College constantly aims to achieve its motto ‘Bringing economically poor rural youth to the reachable heights’. Our purpose is to provide the adequate higher educational platform for students to be moulded into holistic personalities.
CO-OPERATIVE STORE: The PEVR student’s co-operative store is registered on 19.8.1974 under the cooperative society’s act, Government of Tamil Nadu
LIBRARY: The General library is automatedwith the use ofe-granthalaya (eg3) Library Management Software. The College Library subscribes to UGC INFLIBNET (Information Library Network), which makes it possible for accessing about 75000+ e-books and 3,500+ e-journals.
Hostel Facility
The administration of the hostel is looked after by the Warden / Deputy Warden. Mess bills are prepared based on dividing systems. The students are charged very low rent (Rs. 6.00 per month / per student). Dividing system is followed for boarding. The hostel rooms are provided with fans, good lighting and adequate water facility. The hostel inmates are provided with good hygienic vegetarian food
